In this week's Laboratorju Letterarju on University Radio, Dr Gloria Lauri-Lucente will be interviewing Professor Peter Vassallo on the influence of Dante on English literature, with a particular focus on the Romantics.

Professor Vassallo teaches English and Comparative Literature in the Department of English, of which he is the head, within the Faculty of Arts, and is internationally recognised as an authority on the English Romantics. He is the author of the highly influential critical work Byron - The Italian Literary Influence, and is also the editor of Byron and The Mediterranean.

Professor Vassallo is the director of the Institute of Anglo-Italian Studies and the editor of the Journal of Anglo-Italian Studies. He has been visiting professor at the universities of Rome (La Sapienza), Florence, Pisa, Milan, Venice, Bologna, Oxford, and Trinity College, Dublin.

This programme, which is presented and produced by Celaine Buhagiar and Dr Lauri-Lucente, will be broadcast on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with a repeat on Sunday at 9 a.m. on 103.7 Campus FM.
