A 30-year-old Danish man was arrested for hacking into embattled cyclist Michael Rasmussen's email and trying to sell the information he obtained to a tabloid, Danish police said yesterday.

Police said the man was arrested in Herning in western Denmark on Wednesday night and has been charged with unlawfully gaining access to Rasmussen's Web-based email account.

Rasmussen was sacked by his team Radobank and thrown out of the Tour de France last month while leading the race for lying to the team about his training whereabouts, an allegation which the Dane denies.
