The Cypriot national team will be landing in Malta this morning. They will be here for a series of matches culminating in Sunday's full international against our national team, the highlight in a programme to inaugurate the new artificial pitch at the Kordin Hockey Complex.

The Cypriot contingent, led by federation president Peter Karafokas, is made up of 21 players and also includes Demitris Loucaides, national coach, and team manager Panicos Larcou.

The Cypriots will be playing two trial matches today and tomorrow, starting at 7.30 p.m., against two Hockey Association of Malta selections.

Sunday's match, starting at 11 a.m., will be the first full international to be played in Malta. The programme of activities on Sunday includes a Malta youths match, at 9.30 a.m., welcome address by HAM president Chris Busuttil Leaver and Minister for Youth and the Arts Jesmond Mugliett, and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque
