A cultural tour to Comino, organised by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, will be held next Sunday.

Certified guides will take visitors to various sites on this small but interesting island.

These include the chapel, which is dedicated to the return of theHoly Family from Egypt, the St Mary coastal tower, which was financed by Grandmaster Alof de Wigna­­court, the gun battery, the old hospital remains, the cemetery and the baker’s oven.

Participants will arrive by boat at the Bay of Santa Marija and the return trip will leave from the Blue Lagoon.

Coaches for participants depart from the Granaries in Floriana (next to the Independence Monument) and Sliema Ferries (opposite the Jesus of Nazareth church). Coaches leave at 8.45 a.m and return at approximately 2 p.m. Tickets cost €12 for adults and €9.50 for senior citizens and children.

It is recommended that participants wear light clothing, a good pair of walking shoes, a hat or cap, and put on sunscreen.

Bookings are on a first-come, first-served basis and close on Wednesday at noon or earlier if fully booked.

The booking office is at 230, Republic Street, Valletta, (beyond St George’s Square) and is open on Monday and Wednesday between 8.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m.
