Hundreds of people have already gathered at vantage points around the Grand Harbour to witness the Pope's crossing of the Grand Harbour from Kalkara to the Valletta Waterfront on a catamaran.

The Barrakka Gardens, perhaps the best vantage point, were already three rows deep at 3.30 p.m. The crossing has been pushed back to 5.15 p.m.

A number of boats have also gathered off Kalkara to escort the catamaran.

The Valletta Waterfront, where the Pope will meet young people, is also half full of people.
