Car Free Day was being marked to ease the congestion and pollution on the roads. The initiative was appreciated by all, notwithstanding the fact that not all adhered to it. The media promoted this special day and gave full coverage to it.

But what is the reality on our roads? No overtaking on all new roads for long stretches, traffic lights on so-called highways, speed cameras limiting speed to a ridiculous 60kph and all methods to create congestion.

The result: High consumption of dead fuel which is costing the nation millions of extra euros and, consequently, extra high pollution of the air we breathe.

I would like to discover which type of car in Malta lives up to its quoted kpl or litres per 100km.
