A court has issued a warrant of prohibitory injunction against oil trader George Farrugia following a request by two companies run by members of his family.

Mr Farrugia is at the heart of the Enemalta oil procurement scandal and was granted a presidential pardon to reveal all information.

His brother Raymond testified before Madam Justice Lorraine Schembri Orland that Mr Farrugia owed €300,000 to John’s Garage and Power Plan Ltd.

Mr Farrugia and his wife did not appear for the sitting and the court upheld a request by the companies to issue a warrant prohibiting them from disposing of their properties and assets.
