Acclaimed percussionist Renzo Spiteri will join The Idan Raichel Project from Israel in the ninth annual Daniel Pearl World Music Days Event later this month.

The concert is being organised in aid of Pamper the World, a newly set up non-profit association launched in Malta last spring.

Multi-percussion player Mr Spiteri and The Idan Raichel Project will present a new performance that will merge the former’s musical versatility and passion for cross-cultural concerts with The Project’s enchanting blend of African, Latin American, Caribbean and Middle Eastern sounds and upbeat rhythms.

With sophisticated production techniques and a spectacular live show, The Idan Raichel Project has become one of the most unexpected success stories in Israeli music history. Sung in several languages, their songs address the struggle for personal fulfilment and the true meaning of love in a conflicted and complex world.

Pamper the World supports victims of violence, people with special needs and diseases, refugees and dementia sufferers, among others, by providing holistic massage therapy, yoga, meditation and cultural interexchange.

The association is also planning a mission to Israel and Palestine to provide emotional and physical support to the victims of the conflicts on both sides.

Since the inception of the Daniel Pearl World Music Days in 2002, more than 4,900 events have been held in 103 countries, inspired by the legacy of the journalist and musician who was kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in Pakistan shortly after 9/11.

The concert will be held at Hilton Malta’s Grandmaster’s Suite on October 24.

Tickets are on sale from €15 from www.maltaticket.com, Vodafone, Exotique and Agenda.
