NAME: Infiniti
EMERG-E

DEBUT: Geneva
International Motor Show 2012

APPEARANCE: In a word, stunning. With lines somewhere between a McLaren F1 and a Peugeot RCZ it’s a proper looker, the EMERG-E. The bubble cockpit would seem to give a reasonable degree of visibility and therefore practicality, too – at least relative to most cars that can do 0-60mph in four seconds flat. This is Infiniti’s vision for a mid-engined ‘halo’ flagship model that uses advanced materials and technologies.

PREDICTION: This is a dead cert, and aren’t we the lucky ones because it’s not likely to see many styling changes before being released into the wilds of the world car market. Given how strong demand for sports cars still is across the globe, Infiniti is likely to find itself struggling to make enough – unless it decides to limit numbers to maintain exclusivity, in which case there will be a lot of disappointed people out there.

RATING: 10/10
