• Shrek The 3rd will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30 p.m. Firehouse Dog will be screened on New Year's Day at 5.30 p.m.
• A Mass for newly-weds will be celebrated today at 11 a.m. at St George's Basilica, Victoria.
• Tomorrow, Lateran feast of St Sylvester, Bishop Mario Grech will lead Mass and preside at the singing of the Te Deum in thanksgiving for the blessings of the outgoing year, at St George's Basilica, Victoria. St George's Basilica is affiliated to the Lateran Basilica. The service starts at 5 p.m.
• Mgr Grech will lead a Pontifical Mass at St George's Basilica on New Year's Day at 11 a.m.
• Tomorrow Mgr Grech will lead a solemn concelebration with the participation of the Cathedral Chapter at the Gozo Cathedral at 6 p.m. The Te Deum will be sung. On New Year's Day Mgr Grech will lead a concelebrated Mass with the participation of the Cathedral Chapter, at the Cathedral at 6 p.m. on the occasion of the Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Peace Day.
• On New Year's Eve Mgr Grech will lead a Pontifical Mass at 11 p.m. at the Xaghra Basilica. The altar boys' group choir will take part. On New Year's Day Bishop Nikol Cauchi will lead a Pontifical Mass at the same church at 4 p.m. The Voci Angeliche Choir will take part. A procession with the Holy Eucharist along the village streets will follow.
• Masses in English will be held today and on Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Seminary, Victoria, at 10 a.m.
• A Christmas lunch is being organised by the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Xlendi, today at 12.30 p.m. Tickets are available from the church office. A Christmas carol singing service will be held at church today at 6.30 p.m.
• Festive Winds, a concert by the Victoria Clarinet Quintet, will be held today at St James church, Independence Square, Victoria, at 7.30 p.m.
• Eurofest, an end of the year celebration will be held in Victoria, tomorrow. The celebration, featuring singer Ira Losco among others, will start at 10 p.m.
• Radju Lauretana will be holding an open day on Tuesday. The studios, situated under the Għajnsielem parish church, will be open between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Visitors will be able to see the newly bought equipment and send their greetings live on radio. Donations are much appreciated.
• Four international folk groups will be performing at St Peter and St Paul Square in Nadur tomorrow between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 a.m. Taking part are the D'Fuchsenbrindla Dance Group from Austria and the Sbandieratori di Saronno, I Terrazzani di Trabia and I Brianzoli, all of Italy. The Mnarja Folk Group of Nadur will also take part.
• On New Year's Day, a concert by the Gozo Youth Wind Band and Orchestra will be held on Independence Square, Victoria, at 7 p.m.
• Fondazzjoni Arti Fontana is presenting Daqqakanta08 on Thursday at the Exhibition Hall, St Francis Square, Victoria. The evening, co-ordinated by Mro Stephen Attard, starts at 7 p.m. Entrance is free.
