The police are investigating a theft of a number of firearms, considered to be collectors' items, from a Customs store at the Marsa industrial estate.

The theft was reported to the police late on Thursday evening.

The police said investigations showed that someone had forced open the door of the store and made off with 17 firearms.

Duty Magistrate, Myriam Hayman was informed about the theft. A team of court experts was appointed to help in an inquiry.
