A 19-year-old man was yesterday remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to holding a man at knife point and stealing €100 (Lm42.93).

Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani heard Tofigh Farid Foaad Fisal, who resides in Gżira, pleading not guilty to robbing an 18-year-old Libyan national of €100 while he was walking along Ponsonby Street, Gżira, on Tuesday evening. He also pleaded not guilty to causing slight injuries to him, holding him against his will and using a sharp instrument without a police licence.

Police Inspectors Daniel Zammit and Keith Arnaud prosecuted.

Lawyer Mark Busuttil appeared as legal aid to Mr Fasil.
