Dancers in elaborate and colourful costumes skated over seven tonnes of ice this weekend in a unique ballet rendition of Cinderella.
The Mediterranean Conference Centre became a frozen ice palace, ornate with magical sets, bringing the evergreen fairytale to life. Gnomes, fairies and women in luxurious ball gowns glided across the ice with graceful agility, to the enjoyment of children and adults alike.
Cinderella on Ice is a unique version of the world famous Prokofiev Ballet and was presented by the St Petersburg State Ballet Theatre, which has performed more than 5,000 times worldwide.
Its 100 medal-winning skaters have performed classics like Beauty and the Beast, the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and Romeo and Juliet.
Due to popular demand, Standing Ovations, the organisers of the show, added two extra shows to the schedule: a matinee show on Saturday and another evening show yesterday.
