The Chorus Urbanus will be holding its annual Christmas concert at the Astra Theatre, Victoria, on Friday. This year is the 10th anniversary of the concert. The National Orchestra, which will accompany the choir, is also celebrating its 10th anniversary. Both choir and orchestra will be under the direction of Mro John Galea.

The first part of the concert will consist of Viennese music by Mozart and Johann Strauss, while the second part will include traditional and modern carols, such as Oliver Sperling's Gloria de Noel and the premiere of John Galea's Hodie Christus Natus Est.

Various soloists will team up with the choir and orchestra in the rendition of evergreen numbers.

Stage design will be in the hands of Joseph Cauchi.

The concert is supported by the National Orchestra, the Astra Theatre, the Good Causes Fund, the Ministry of Finance, the Gozo Ministry and the Victoria council.

The concert starts at 7.30 p.m. Entrance is free and seats will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. The door opens at 7 p.m.

Donations to the Arka Foundation will be accepted.
