X Factor star Cheryl Cole came face to face with her waxwork at Madame Tussauds and joked that she wanted it kept “away from Simon”.

But the star does not have to worry because her mentor Cowell’s likeness is on loan to another exhibition.

The singer, wearing a leather jacket, green dress and crystal studded heels, posed next to the model at the London tourist attraction.

She said: “It’s weird. I can’t even explain, I don’t see myself like that.”

The fibreglass and wax figure is dressed in a red Jean-Paul Gaultier dress that Ms Cole wore for Fashion Aid.

She said: “It’s a dress I wore to a charity event and I wanted to relive that moment.”

The figure, which cost £150,000 to make, will go on show in the A List Party area of the attraction.

Stephen Mansfield, a sculptor at Madame Tussauds, said the model was totally accurate, complete with Ms Cole’s trademark tattoos hidden under the dress.
