A father and son were yesterday granted bail against a personal guarantee of €10,000 (Lm4, 291.84) each after they pleaded not guilty to trying to seriously injure a man.

Carmelo Farrugia, 49, and his 18-year-old son Alan Farrugia, from Tarxien, pleaded not guilty to trying to seriously injure Mario Bonnici with a pointed instrument on Sunday evening at 7.

Magistrate Silvio Meli also heard the men plead not guilty to causing slight injuries to Joseph Manicaro and Benedetto Bonnici.

Police Inspector Spiridone Zammit prosecuted.
