Champions Hibernians confirmed their reputation as Malta's top team in the women's category after they ended their third straight championship campaign undefeated.

The Paolites, on Sunday, completed their commitments with a deserved 3-0 win over Melita.

Tessie Agius gave Hibs a 1-0 lead at half-time with Joanne Vella and Chantalle Grech adding two other goals after the break. Grech's goal increased Hibs' all-time tally to 300.

After the match, MFA vice-president John Farrugia presented the trophies to Agius and Dorianne Theuma, the top scorer with 19 goals.

In the other match, Birkirkara made sure of finishing second by beating Raiders 4-0. Deborah Pisani, Chantal Fenech, Chantal Demanuele and Melanie Zammit scored Birkirkara's goals.

Top scorers: D. Theuma (Hibs) 19 goals; J. Vella (Hibs) 12; S. Caruana (Hibs) 10; E. Agliano (Birkir-kara) 9; C. Camilleri (Birkirkara), S. Mizzi, J. Coates (Mosta) 8.
