A catering establishment based in Gzira has been ordered to immediately stop using noisy machinery which was inconveniencing neighbours.

Applicants Charles and Gemma Gruppetta, Gordon and Ingrid Axiaq and Johan and Fabianne Agius told the court that they lived in a block of flats on The Strand in Gzira and that Paparukei Catering Ltd was very close by.

They complained that the machinery used in the confectionery was very noisy and was a nuisance to them and interrupted their rest.

The court appointed technical expert concluded that the machinery, which consisted in refrigeration with outlets adjacent to plaintiffs' property was inconveniencing plaintiffs with its noise and vibrations.

The court, presided over by Mr Justice Joseph Zammit McKeon, ordered the company to immediately stop making use of the machinery.
