The Labour Party's spokesman on tourism, Marie-Louise Coleiro-Preca said yesterday the government should immediately withdraw the proposals on the utility rates it presented to the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development and begin discussions with all social partners.

Ms Coleiro-Preca said the government should conduct the necessary studies on the economic and social impacts of any changes it proposes to essential services before introducing them.
