Over 4,000 copies of a calendar issued by the Gozo ministry that promotes the theme of 'Eco-Gozo' have been distributed to children at primary and secondary State and Church schools in Gozo.

Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono said this was part of a campaign aimed at creating more awareness about the government's vision of turning Gozo into an ecological island.

Two other types of calendars featuring messages aimed at promoting sustainable development were also distributed - one aimed at secondary schools and the other at the general public. Parts of the calendar may also be used as a bookmark.

These were distributed to special schools within the Gozo College and other educational institutions on the island, including the Mcast centre, Sir M. A. Refalo Centre for Further Studies, the Institute for Tourism Studies, and the Wistin Camilleri Gozo Centre for Arts and Crafts.
