Students from the Guze Galea Boys Secondary School in Qormi recently enjoyed a break from their daily academic lessons as they converged on the Pietà Hotspurs' training grounds to participate in a series of soccer skills activities conducted by the coaches of the Buzu Soccer School.

Some 130 students applied to take part in the soccer skills exercises provided by Ray 'Zazu' Farrugia, Carmel Busuttil and former Malta defender John Buttigieg.

Meanwhile, the Buzu Soccer School in collaboration with General Soft Drinks (GSD), through Powerade, the isotonic drink produced by Coca-Cola, recently donated Lm165.53 to the St Joseph Home of Sta Venera.

The money was raised during the Food and Drink Fair in Naxxar where hundreds of kids took part in penalty shoot-out competitions on a mini-size artificial turf pitch laid across the Powerade stand. The donation was received by Fr Bezzina who explained that the St Joseph Home hosts boys aged between nine and 18, who are either orphans or need alternative accommodation arrangements.
