A future Labour government would be committed to ensuring that, when the time is opportune, all Maltese and Gozitan households would have access to broadband, Labour spokesman on IT Leo Brincat said.

Mr Brincat, who was speaking on a visit to Vodafone's head office in Birkirkara, said that in an environment where the country was heading for a knowledge-based economy, informatics and telecommunications should go hand in hand in complete synergy.

Vodafone, he said, was helping to achieve this goal.
