A 53-year-old Briton was found dead at sea early yesterday morning, the police said.

The man was seen floating a few metres off Qui-Si-Sana, along the Sliema coast, at around 7.30 a.m. His personal belongings were found on the beach.

The man's body, which had no signs of violence, was recovered from the sea by an Armed Forces of Malta patrol boat and taken to Haywharf.

Police investigations are ongoing. An autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of the man's death. His identity was not revealed by the police.
