World undisputed middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins eased to a unanimous points victory over Britain's Howard Eastman to secure a 20th successful defence of his title last weekend in Los Angeles.
The European champion started strongly and was the busier fighter in the early exchanges but from the sixth round onwards, Hopkins (46-2-1, 32 KOs) found his rhythm and repeatedly put Eastman (40-2, 35 KOs) under immense pressure.
The brash 40-year-old Hopkins has not lost a fight since 1993. The defeat was the 34-year-old Guyana-born Eastman's second in a middleweight title bout in the United States following a points loss to William Joppy in 2001.
