Unused stone quarries are no longer being used as dumping sites for rubble and other waste building material. This is being dumped elsewhere.

It seems that now, when limestone quarries are exhausted, industrial garages are being built instead, with no respect for the environment. According to contracts between the owners of the quarries and the Church, which had sold or rented the land to them, they had to turn the quarries into agricultural land, but this is not happening. It makes you wonder what Mepa is there for.

The quarries can be used as agricultural land or as water reservoirs catching rainwater from the main roads, instead of letting it run into the sea. This should also help raise the water table levels.
