Malta Dairy Products Ltd (MDP), the leading processing dairy in the Maltese islands, is the latest company to place the renowned Green Dot trademark across its full range of Benna milk cartons and yogurt products.

“While the brand name, Benna, originates from the Maltese word “bnin” (meaning wholesome) and refers to the high nutrient value of its fresh milk products, MDP’s adoption of the Green Dot trademark further underlines MDP’s environmental commitment,” said Denise Vassallo, senior manager at Green Dot Malta.

Over 130,000 companies across Europe recover or recycle their waste under the Green Dot umbrella, while the Green Dot symbol appears on the packaging of approximately 460 billion items worldwide.

There are currently over 300 other Maltese companies signed up with the GreenPak waste recovery scheme.

These companies can make use of the Green Dot trademark which has become synonymous with manufacturers who contribute towards the cost of recovery and recycling of materials put on the market.

Benna is also extending its support to Green Dot by participating in the “Reward, Reuse, Recycle” campaign which rewards residents who have recycled through door-to-door collections or by disposing of their separated waste in one of GreenPak’s recycling banks.
