Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery looks set to be out until at least mid-February after suffering a relapse as his knee injury takes longer to heal than first expected.

The 27-year-old twisted his knee earlier this month against Wolfsburg on January 15 and had been expected to only miss a week of training.

But Ribery has complained of pain in his left knee and broke off rehabilitation training to receive treatment. Bayern’s team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller has ordered five days of complete rest before Ribery can train again.

The Bild reported Ribery is expected to be out for three weeks and his next game will be against Mainz on February 19.
