Goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and playmaker Antonio Cassano will be back for Italy’s February 9 friendly against Germany, coach Cesare Prandelli told news agency ANSA yesterday.

“There’ll be Buffon as well as Cassano against Germany,” said Prandelli.

Buffon, who was out from last June to earlier this month with a disc hernia, “has recovered and now he’s good”, said the coach.

“I’ve always considered him the number one, and so he told me he’s available against Germany.”

Cassano has not had a call-up since his suspension by Sampadoria at the end of October, but is now turning out for new club Milan.

“It seems to me that he’s playing rather well, so yes, he’ll also be there in Germany,” he said.
