The Bay Street Complex in St Julians donated six computer laptops, a Wii game console and six flat screen television sets to Rainbow Ward, the children's section at the Mater Dei Hospital.

The donation was made to ward consultant Victor Calvagna during an event held as part of the Bay Street Rainbow Ward Good Cause Campaign, launched by the Bay Street management and its operators.

The evening activity, hosted by Bay Street marketing manager Martin Sapiano, featured performances by Chilean singer and latin dancer Tauro, the Malta Academy for Performing Arts, Jake Camilleri, the Cute Singers & Dancers, Mix Age dancers and Line Dancing.

Shirley, a young ambassador for Rainbow Ward, participated in a plaque-placing ceremony endorsing the Bay Street Rainbow Ward Good Cause Fund.

An indoor climbing wall, standing two floors high and sponsored by Malta Activities, attracted a number of people who also gave a donation in aid of the campaign.

The funds collected during the activity amounted to €358. These will be presented to the Puttinu Cares Foundation towards residences in London for relatives of patients undergoing treatment abroad.

The equipment donated to Rainbow Ward was sponsored by Bay Street operators, Marks & Spencer, Guess, Travellers, Perugina, NM Arrigo Ltd, Blaumax, Exotique, Terranova, Pedigree Toy Shops, Franks, Eurosport, Mc Donalds,Qwik Juice Bar and Mozzarella's.
