Team by team analysis of Sunday's Spanish Formula One Grand Prix (teams listed in championship order): - MCLAREN (Lewis Hamilton 2, Fernando Alonso 3) Hamilton's fourth podium in four races handed him the championship lead, two points clear of Alonso, and made him the youngest driver ever to be in that position. The British rookie started fourth but passed Ferrari's Raikkonen at the start and was then gifted second place when Alonso went wide in trying to pass eventual winner Massa. McLaren stretched their overall lead to nine points from five. - FERRARI (Felipe Massa 1, Kimi Raikkonen retired) Massa's second win in a row, and fourth of his career, after his third successive pole position. The Brazilian moved up to third in the championship, three points behind Hamilton. The victory was Ferrari's 10th in Spain. Raikkonen retired with an alternator problem while in third place. - BMW SAUBER (Robert Kubica 4, Nick Heidfeld retired) BMW's fourth fourth place in a row in the fourth race of the year. Heidfeld led for one lap but retired after 46 with a suspected gearbox problem. He also suffered from a troubled pitstop that left the front right wheel loose. - RENAULT (Heikki Kovalainen 7, Giancarlo Fisichella 9) The team said both drivers' races were compromised by fuel rig problems, which affected Kovalainen's first and second stops and Fisichella's second by delivering insufficient fuel for them to complete the planned stints. Rookie Kovalainen's result was his best so far, Fisichella's eight-race run of scoring points came to an end. - WILLIAMS (Nico Rosberg 6, Alexander Wurz retired) Rosberg's best result of his career so far lifted Toyota-powered Williams ahead of Toyota into fifth place overall. He said his only problem was a faulty drink bottle. Wurz retired at the end of lap one after running into the back of Schumacher's Toyota. - TOYOTA (Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli retired) Schumacher was hit by Wurz at turn 10, and had to pit to check for damage. He then retired 20 laps from the end when the nose cone worked loose. Trulli suffered a fuel pressure problem on the grid, forcing the start to be aborted and sending him to the pit lane exit. He then lasted eight laps before the same pressure problem recurred. - RED BULL (David Coulthard 5, Mark Webber retired) Coulthard gave Red Bull their first points of the season, despite losing third gear towards the end. He drove on using only fourth gear and above. Webber retired early with a transmission failure. - SUPER AGURI (Takuma Sato 8, Anthony Davidson 11) Sato gave Super Aguri their first point in 22 Formula One races, lifting the team above engine partners Honda in the constructors' standings. - HONDA (Rubens Barrichello 10, Jenson Button 12) Barrichello and Button collided after the Briton emerged from the pit lane following his first stop. Button lost his front wing and had to pit again. Barrichello's 10th place was Honda's highest finish so far this season. - SPYKER (Adrian Sutil 13, Christijan Albers 14) Spyker got two cars to the finish for the second successive race and moved up to 10th place overall with their best results of the year so far. Albers collected a drive-through penalty on lap 33 for failing to observe blue warning flags to let the leaders through. Both drivers also stalled in the pits. - TORO ROSSO (Vitantonio Liuzzi and Scott Speed retired) Liuzzi retired with an hydraulics problem. Speed's race ended when his rear tyre exploded as he was going down the straight. (Reuters)
