Valletta assistant coach Gilbert Agius has had his one-year ban from football reduced to three matches on appeal.

The decision has been announced today.

Agius, a former Valletta and Malta captain, had been suspended until December 26, 2014 after he allegedly bumped into Naxxar Lions coach Winston Muscat.

However, the Appeals Board, after examining video evidence and the referees' report as well as hearing witnesses, deemed that there had only been slight contact between the two and it was not intentional on Agius's part.

Apart from the three-match touchline ban, Agius was also fined €40.
