Troubled Mario Balotelli has a future at Inter despite being left out of the squad for Tuesday's 1-0 Champions League win at Chelsea, president Massimo Moratti has said.

The 19-year-old striker has clashed repeatedly with coach Jose Mourinho, and fevered speculation over why he was not in the squad has taken some of the limelight away from Inter's qualification for the quarter-finals after an impressive 3-1 aggregate defeat of Chelsea.

"Mourinho made the right decision and if he made the right decision it means that the others aren't doing their best for the club," Moratti told Inter's website (www.inter.it).

"Balotelli has the talent and ability to be a serious professional. He will show us this and then we will all be at peace again."

Balotelli, an Italian of Ghanaian descent, has endured a difficult 12 months in which he was racially abused by Juventus supporters in April and AS Roma fans in June.
