Auxiliary Bishop and Vicar General Charles Scicluna was recently given a warm welcome by residents and staff of Dar tal-Providenza. He found time to meet all the residents, who were gathered in the home’s St Paul’s Hall, as well as their support workers and ability promoters.

Home director Fr Martin Micallef welcomed him on behalf of the residents and highlighted the work carried out by Dar tal-Providenza. The home currently houses 98 residents whose ages vary between 10 and 80 and over. It also offers respite services on a regular basis.

Mgr Scicluna said the home was an institution very close to the heart of Christ, saying anyone who visited it could not but realise that it was indeed a true treasure of the Church. He appealed to the workers and volunteers to continuously use a heavy dose of the Gospel in their work.
