The Maltese-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Culture (MACCC) will be holding the fifth Maltese-Australian Cultural Week between tomorrow - Australia Day - and February 2.

MACCC cultural weeks feature social and cultural events for the entertainment and appreciation of all those interested in Malta-Australia connections in all fields.

Cultural Week 2008 will start on the morning of Australia Day with a programme of activities for the children of the St James Young Cavalier Club. The activities, presented by Colin Willis and Arthur Day, are designed to teach children about Australia and to give them a taste of Australian culture.

There will be an exhibition of the photography of Marie Micallef, a Maltese photographer now living and studying in Australia, at the Terrace Hall of St James Cavalier Creativity Centre, in Valletta, from next Monday. The exhibition will run until February 24. At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Bernice Axisa, wine development manager of Wands Ltd, will give a presentation on Australian wines in the Music Room of St James Cavalier. This will be followed by wine tasting .
