Auditions for singers and dancers to take part in the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in October will be held next weekend.
Hoi Polloi Theatre Productions’ aim is to develop the potential of budding artists, no matter what age, and give them the opportunity to express themselves through theatre. ‘Hoi Polloi’ is in fact an ancient Greek expression meaning ‘the many’ or ‘the common people’.
They are looking for a choir of 100 children aged eight to 14 and a cast of singers and dancers aged 15 to adult.
Hoi Polloi’s production of Joseph, with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Llyod Webber, will be directed by Marco Calleja. Musical direction is by Brian Cefai and choreography by Johane Casabene and Alison Bird. For more information visit www.josephinmalta.com or e-mail info@josephinmalta.com.
Auditions will take place at The Dance Conservatoire in Qormi on Saturday. Rehearsals will start in July and the production will take place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta, on October 21 and 22.
