A half-day seminar on the theme 'Astronomy and Science in the Media' is being held on Saturday from 9 to 11.30 a.m. at the Halland Hotel, Ibraġ. The event is organised by the Astronomical Society of Malta in conjunction with the Tumas Fenech Foundation for Education in Journalism, and the Institute of Maltese Journalists.

Alexei Pace will give an introduction on astronomy, David Pace will talk about bad astronomy in the media, Gordon Caruana Dingli will speak about the Apollo missions, and Leonard Ellul Mercer will deliver a presentation on nebulae, galaxies and the 'Moon for all Mankind' initiative.

The latter project involves people in various countries taking photos of the moon and the images being collating in an animated feature and distributed around the world.

Journalists and other people interested to attend should e-mail alexei.pace@gmail.com by Tuesday.
