The Banca Giuratale on Independence Square, Victoria, is hosting an exhibition by Gozitan artist Anthony Caruana.

It was inaugurated by the head of the Gozo Ministry secretariat, Anthony Borg.

2nd Impressions of Gozo includes landscapes, rendered in oils, of several remote places on the island.

Caruana uses the impasto technique with superb mastery. He focuses on colour, giving a fresh look to his spontaneous work.

Caruana will be presenting his works in Estonia at the Edward Villed Museum in September.

He has exhibited in major European cities since 1977, winning prestigious awards.

Caruana was born in 1955 in Xewkija. He started drawing at a very young age and studied art in Malta, the UK and Italy.

The exhibition is open today from 8 a.m. to noon.
