The front door of a residence in Tumas Fenech Street, Qormi, was set on fire by arsonists last night, the police said.

The blaze was reported at about 1.50 a.m. and was extinguished by the time the officers arrived. No one was injured.

Initial investigations showed that somebody had placed a tyre against the door and doused it with flamable liquid.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano is heading an inquiry.
