Doriette Rizzo Naudi writes:

When my sister Lucienne first introduced us to Christopher, her husband-to-be, little did my family realise what an enriching experience the encounter would be. Foremost among this family of charming people was Christopher's father, William.

William Selvagi was a man of few words but every syllable he uttered was worth its weight in priceless wisdom. He was a family man who constantly put his children's welfare before his own and who never sounded his own trumpet. In fact, few people know of the prestigious positions he held within the civil service. In spite of his unobtrusive qualities, he did not lack the gumption necessary to turn to entrepreneurship rather late in life, a business he ran most effectively and productively.

William was a living example of gentlemen from the old school.

The massive turnout of mourners at his funeral last Saturday was living proof of the high esteem he was held in by all those who were fortunate enough to know him. His demise is society's irreparable loss.

He will be sorely missed by his wife Anne, his children Raphael, Christopher and Maryanne, their families and his five grandchildren, whom he discreetly revered.

May the Lord grant him the eternal rest he undoubtedly deserves.
