BORDA. On April 24, at Mater Dei Hospital, LOUISE (Ġiġia) of Sliema, widow of Alfred, aged 99, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Monica and her husband Joseph Zammit, Catherine and her husband David Yost, and Sr Maria of the Medical Missionaries of Mary, her grandchildren Marcella and her husband John Muscat, Carlo, Aldo, Bianca and Sergio, and her great-grandson Nick, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 9 a.m. for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Sacro Cuor) parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Medical Missionaries of Mary would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GRISCTI. On April 26, at St Philip's Hospital, EMMANUELE (Lulù) of Sliema, aged 88, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved children Dr Marco Griscti and his wife Helen, née Micallef, and Rina, wife of Dr Henry Antoncich, LL.D., his four grandsons, Joseph and his fiancée Ruth Grima, John-Paul, Matteo and Fabio, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Philip's Hospital tomorrow at 9 a.m. for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. RIPARD. PAUL, 77 years, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital on the 25th April, comforted by the Rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife Dora née Albanese, his dear children Ruth, Giselle, Pawlu, Christian and his wife Jackie, his devoted brother John and his wife Rosette and their children, his grandchildren Claire, Emilie, Ben, Sophie, Maria, Hannah and Rachel, his great-grandson Kai, his in-laws May and Victor Portelli, Nanette and Joe Micallef, Tony and Indre and Terry Albanese, his cousins, relatives and countless sailing friends. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated at St John of the Cross parish church, Ta' Xbiex today at 9.30 a.m. The family wish to thank the staff of the MITU at Mater Dei Hospital for their constant care and dedication.

ZAMMIT. On April 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMEL E. (Charles) of Sliema, aged 77, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Marisa, his children Etienne and his wife Maryann and Jacqueline and her husband Karl Magri, his grandchildren Rebecca, Sarah and Maximillian, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. EU funding

Applications for health-related projects worth up to €37 million will soon open under the EU's regional fund.

The project proposals are related to the health sector and will be part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund 2007 - 2013.

The project falls under the Planning and Priorities Coordination Division within the Office of the Prime Minister.

Commemorative stamp

Maltapost will mark the 10th anniversary of the euro by issuing a commemorative stamp on Thursday. It is obtainable as either a first-day cover, mint or cancelled format, a souvenir folder or presentation pack, from all the company's branches mobile unit and the Philatelic Bureau.
