Another corpse, the third in two days, has been found at sea off Malta, the AFM reported.

The body was located by an Italian patrol boat 50 miles southwest of Malta and will be landed in Malta later in the afternoon.

The AFM said one of its helicopters yesterday afternoon evacuated a Maltese fisherman after he injured his neck with a fishing hook while on a trawler 34 miles southwest of Malta. The man, who needed urgent medical attention, was hoisted on an Alouette helicopter and flown to Mater Dei Hospital.

A Tunisian fisherman earlier yesterday was similarly rescued from another fishing boat by a helicopter of the Malta-based Italian military mission.
