PORTELLI. On January 31, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTHONY of Sliema, aged 77, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Grace, his children Philip and his wife Odette, Madeliene, widow of Raymond O’Leary, Doris, widow of his son Michael, his grandchildren Edwin, Anthony, Krista and Andre, his great-grandchildren, sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Ballet review
Fourteen ballet teachers from across Malta attended a revision course for the class exam syllabus at The Dance Workshop.
Cecchetti Classical Ballet Faculty chairman Elisabeth Swan, who conducted the course, was impressed by the turnout and with the teachers’ standard. Ms Swan was in Malta as visiting examiner for Cecchetti dance students.
This was the third course organised this term by The Dance Workshop principal Theresa Lungaro-Mifsud where teachers could brush up their Cecchetti work and keep up-to-date with what was happening in the dance world.
