MIFSUD. On December 17, at St Vincent de Paul residence, CARMEN, née Zammit, widow of John, aged 85, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children Doris Sarlo, Mary Rose and her husband, Professor Godfrey Pirotta, Tony and his wife Carmen, John, MaryLou and her husband David Sturgess, Joseph and his wife Silvana, Louis and his wife Kerry, her grandchildren Stefania, Michele, Daniela, Keith, Sharon, Heidi, Eric John, Daniel, Serena, Joshua and Marcus, her great-grandchildren Caitlin, Gavin, Jessica, David and Joseph, family friend Louis Fabri, besides many relatives and numerous friends.
The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence tomorrow at 2 p.m. for Msida parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be greatly appreciated.

SCHEMBRI. On December 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA, née ORLAND, widow of the late Mr Justice George Schembri, passed suddenly and peacefully away. A beloved mother and grandmother, she leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Marie-Louise and her husband Louis Scerri Montaldo, her son George and his wife Lorraine, and her son Ronald, her grandchildren Kevin and George, her in-laws, relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

Music And Media Exams

The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, the local representatives of the London College of Music and Media, have announced the dates for the 2008 Practical and Theory Local Examinations.

The two practical examinations will be held at Palazzo De La Salle in Valletta in May for the spring session and in October for the winter session.

The closing dates for applications are February 29 for the spring session and August 1 for the winter session.

The three theory examinations will be held on the following days: Spring session on April 2 (closing date - January 18); Summer session on June 21 (closing date - April 18); Winter session on November 29 (closing date - September 12).

Restaurant Refurbished

The Village Square Restaurant at the Sunny Coast Resort, Qawra, has opened under new management and has been refurbished.

The Village Square's qualified chef patron, Sandro Deguara, has also designed the menu in such a way to include both Maltese and Mediterranean cuisine.

Choral Concert Today

The Jubilate Deo Choir will be holding its annual Christmas concert at Naxxar's parish church today at 7.30 p.m. Soprano Claudia Tabone, tenor Charles Vincenti, harpist Caroline Calleja and organist Ronald Camilleri will be joining the choir.

Christmas Concert

A Christmas concert will be held on Saturday at 6.30 p.m. at Ta' Liesse church, Valletta, with the participation of George Curmi (Il-Pusé), the Santa Marija Band of Dingli, Lydia Buttigieg and David Gauci Hampton. The public is invited.
