CALLEJA. On August 1, at Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara, Rev. Mgr GUIDO, former parish priest of St Julian’s and Stella Maris, Sliema, passed away peacefully at the age of 89. He leaves to mourn his loss Gemma, widow of his brother Anthony, his nephews and nieces Anna, Guido, Eric and Diane, other relatives and numerous friends, among whom Mgr Lawrence Gatt and the Zammit Lupi family. He will be also dearly missed by his former parishioners at St John the Baptist Church, Magnolia Springs, Alabama, USA. The funeral cortége leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday August 4, to Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated by His Grace the Archbishop at 9.30am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Donations to id-Dar tal-Kleru will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. CASOLANI. On July 31, DAVID, passed away peacefully at home, aged 70. He leaves to mourn his loss his devoted wife Simone née Grech, his beloved children Simon and his wife Denise, Janika and her husband Edward Busuttil, his grandchildren Martina and Mikela, his stepchildren Matthew, Sarah and her husband Alessandro Venè and their son Zachary, his brother Marcel, his sisters Anna Busuttil, Sue and her husband Paul Psaila, his in-laws Marian and her husband Stephen Miller and James Grech, his nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Friday, August 3, at 1.30pm for Stella Maris church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Ursuline Creche in Sliema would be greatly appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.
DEGUARA. On August 1, at Loyola House, Naxxar, Fr PAUL, SJ, aged 84, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Mother Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren in the Society of Jesus in Malta, his brothers Carmel, Lazarus and his wife Maria, his sister-in-law Gracey, widow of his brother Anthony, his sisters Helen and Sister Maria SSD, Doris, widow of Anthony Xuereb, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today, Friday, August 3, at 3.30pm at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, Naxxar, followed by the interment at the cemetery in Naxxar. No flowers by request, but donations to the Jesuit Infirmary for aged and sick Jesuit Fathers and Brothers will be greatly appreciated. May he rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.
MICALLEF. On August 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, VINCENT, of Msida, aged 73, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Doris, his children Christian and his wife Maureen, Dorianne and her husband Etienne Dalli, his beloved grandchildren Luca, Julia, Isaac and Andrea, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, their respective spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. PECORELLA. Today, August 3rd, at Mater Dei Hospital, GODFREY, from Sliema and residing in San Ġwann, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church, aged 76. He leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife Carmen, his son Etienne and his wife Lina, his son Sandro and his wife Lisa, his daughter Claudia, his son Massimo and his partner Eleonor, his grandchildren Christopher, Jade, Luke, James, Kyra and Timo, and his great-grandson Salvatore, his sister Maryrose and partner Paul, his brother Ignatius and wife May, his sister Lucienne, his many beloved in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
