The month of February led to the last days of Horace Caruana as headmaster of Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary in Naxxar. He has now moved on to become principal of St Ignatius College.

The Higher Secondary, although always termed as a beneficial educational institution, has evolved greatly in the last couple of years under the direction and headship of Mr Caruana. His sound attitude, never-ending motivation and great philosophical and educational values were a model to all the teaching staff and all these values also seeped and oozed down all the levels within the school hierarchy, with everybody then following one sound policy with the school's development and progress in mind.

Obviously Mr Caruana was backed and flanked with an efficient and collaborative administration team, yet I am sure they join me in both thanking Mr Caruana for his sterling service in the last years and wishing him well for his new posting as a principal.
