Readers of Harry Vassallo's contribution of February 22 must have been intrigued by his posturing of the Greens in the current political landscape.

Sifting through his rhetoric, however, one could not have missed his point that "our first duty will be to give this country a stable government".

And further on he emphasises that "a stable government is no small asset in any country. In a small country far more dependant on external trade than most, it becomes essential". Perhaps Dr Vassallo should have added that the PN in government has ensured this stability for our country through its constructive policies and vision that has enabled us to join the EU and qualify for the adoption of the euro. It should therefore be amply clear to the wavering voter, as well as the potential non-voter, that one has to put aside personal matters/grudges and exercise his/her right to vote. And, as advised by Dr Vassallo himself, we should ensure that a stable government is elected. It is, of course, up to the intelligent voter to decide which party offers the desired stability. That's where our no. 1 vote should go!
