Air Malta has denied reports that its flight KM 117 from London Gatwick to Malta on May 24 was delayed so that the aircraft could wait for Susan Davies, wife of CEO Peter Davies.

The airline said Ms Davies reported for the flight one and a half hours prior to the scheduled departure time - well ahead of the required time.

The delay, the airline said, was due to the processing of overbooked passengers and air traffic congestion.
