A Memorandum of Understanding was recently signed by the educational authorities from the Office of the College Principal, St Theresa College, Malta and high officials from the General Council at La Marne, France.

The signing took place at Chalons-en-Champagne, France, and the Agreement was signed by St Theresa College principal Frank Fabri and the president of the General Council at La Marne, René-Paul Savary, Louis Pasteur de Suippes College principal Alain Aubert, Privè Notre Dame de Châlons-en-Champagne College director Laurent Lanfranchi and College du Vieux Port de Vitry-le-François principal Bertrand Francois.

Natasha Meli Daudey, counsellor at the Embassy of Malta in Paris was also present for the signing.

The agreement covers a period of four years and provides opportunities for collaboration between the Maltese and French partners.

The first area of collabo-ration is job shadowing for school administrators, including heads of schools and assistant heads.

Secondly, Maltese teachers of French will have the opportunity to teach a class of French students, while French teachers may take classes in Maltese schools within St Theresa College.

Thirdly, Maltese students studying French will be paired with French students in order to practice both French and English.

This Memorandum of Understanding is part of a series of activities undertaken with the General Council of La Marne, coordinated by the Embassy of France in Malta and the Embassy of Malta in France.
