The Malta Council for Science and Technology is organising the Science and Technology Festival on the University campus from tomorrow until Sunday.

The festival, which is open to the public, is a fun way to experience science and technology, targeting families and adults during the weekend and secondary school children during the week.

There will be interactive exhibits on display, which will allow for hands-on experimentation by visitors. Professional animators will demonstrate live science shows and experiments. A number of local organisations will also be present to show the importance of science in their work.

The opening hours for school visits, strictly by registration, are from 8.30 a.m. till 3.30 p.m. from tomorrow until Friday. The public is invited to visit on Friday from 5.30 till 10 p.m., on Saturday from 10 a.m. till 10 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. till 7 p.m.

Entertainment highlights during the festival include a night sky observation on Tuesday and Thursday from 7 p.m., a chemistry presentation in the Common Room on Friday between 6 and 8 p.m., a children’s play on Saturday at 10.30 a.m. in the Performance Area, followed by a Robot Wars competition at 2 p.m., live entertainment on stage on Saturday at 7 p.m., and a treasure hunt on Sunday at 1.30 p.m.

Entrance is free. For more information, call Christopher Bugeja on 2360 2136 or e-mail christopher.b.bugeja@gov.mt.
