Workers who returned to the civil service in the interval between the dissolution of Posta Ltd and the complete privatisation of the postal service will have their appointments and promotions recognised.

An agreement to this effect was signed by the Union Haddiema Maghqudin.

The agreement covers public officials who returned to the civil service during the privatisation of Maltapost; public officials who worked with Maltapost and returned to the civil service in 2003; and public officials who worked with Posta Ltd and returned to the civil service before 2001 as well as those who were promoted when they worked with Posta Ltd.

A committee has been set up between the government and the UHM to ensure the implementation of the agreement.
